Talk about melancholy. There is a real sadness as B5, the series, winds down. When Garibaldi and G'Kar are saying their goodbyes you can really see and feel the emotion that the actors were feeling. This was them saying goodbye, not just the characters. This is a very touching, moving episode, and it provides Garibaldi to have one of his greatest scenes as he's talking to the Board of Edgars Industries. Great stuff!
I remember the first time I watched the episode when it was first on and I felt like the actors must have when they filmed the episode - you know it's over. Just a couple more episodes (one of which had been filmed a year earlier) and that was it. And for a couple of the actors this episode was the last one. The undercurrent is just brutally emotional. Bittersweet.
The show made it the full five years, but when it comes near the end you just can't help but wish you had five more.
