This is one I'm going to start soon. I've been putting it off for WAY too long. I've heard a lot of great stuff about it, and I'm definitely looking forward to it!

OK, having watched the entire series to date, I can say that this is a VERY good show. It did shift significantly, after the war was over, and that really changed the feel of the show fairly drasticlly. The show remained very good up through the most recent season (season 5), but there were storylines that just weren't as good in seasons 4 and 5 as the previous seasons. Still, overall this is a top notch show - very well written, directed, acted, and produced. The visual effects are excellent, and it really works. Style wise, I'd say it's a combination of Blade Runner and Outland with some Babylon 5 worthy political intrigue and some great action scenes. The only gripe I've got about the show is everyone is so deadly serious. There is a complete lack of humor on the show. While having a Stargate or even Babylon 5 level of humor wouldn't make sense, people do tend to crack more jokes in stressful situations to relieve the tension, and that's missing here. It's almost as if humor has been outlawed in the future. But that minor quibble aside, The Expanse is highly recommended for fans of serious Science Fiction.
